"For gor'sake, stop laughing: this is serious!"

Welcome to 'For gor'sake, stop laughing: this is serious', a blog dedicated to the rich history of Australian Cartoonists and their art.

My first post had to of course showcase what is said to be the greatest cartoon ever to be produced in Australia. It was drawn by the great Stan Cross who was also known for his comic strips 'The Potts' and 'Wally and the Major'. It first appeared in 'Smiths Weekly' in 1933.
